Neighborhood AI
The team

Building civic infrastructure with care, rigor, and neighborhood partners.

Nigel Jacob

Nigel Jacob is a civic innovator and institutional builder working where neighborhood knowledge, public systems, and democratic imagination meet. His work begins with a stubborn fact of civic life: communities are repeatedly asked to make consequential decisions after the history, relationships, and promises that should inform them have been scattered or forgotten.

He leads Neighborhood AI, an emerging civic institution building the memory, coordination, and decision infrastructure neighborhoods need to act on their own terms. Across Boston, Nigel works with residents, community organizations, and public institutions to turn lived experience, public record, and unfinished commitments into more accountable pathways for action.

He is a Professor of Practice at Tufts University’s Jonathan M. Tisch College of Civic Life and a visiting fellow at its Center for Civic AI.

Growing with intention

Additional collaborators are joining the work over the next few weeks.

We will introduce the expanding team as roles, relationships, and shared responsibilities take shape.
